Chart of the Week - Equities

Reward/Risk has Shifted in the Stock Market!

Today we keep it simple. This chart represents Futures positioning for all four major indices combined (not available anywhere else). It includes the S&P, Dow, Nasdaq and Russell. This is the shortest Commercials (red column. aka hedgers) have been in quite a while, and inversely, both Speculators increased their net-long positions.

Also, something to consider: How did Stocks do in October? 

• Dow down on the month.

• S&P down on the month.

• Nasdaq down on the month.
  Russell down on the month.

• Dax Down, Nikkei flat, Euro Stoxx down, Hang Seng down & Shanghai Composite down. 

The majority of people I asked believed the stock market was up in October.
